My Story

Nice to meet you! 

I’m Carol Moffatt, the virtual assistant behind Aurora Virtual Solutions. My career began several decades ago when my very first job was as an assistant to the manager of a travel agency located in a large department store in downtown Detroit. It took an hour and two buses to get there. It paid $360.00 a month for 40 hours! Can you believe that!!! I didn’t’ know it at the time but that would be the beginning of a long career in the hospitality industry.

Over the years, I was trained as a travel agent. First booking vacation travel, then domestic corporate travel, then international corporate travel and finally Incentive Travel. Incentive travel was amazing. It’s where I learned to be creative and honed my negotiating skills. We sent winners all over the world and, occasionally, I was allowed to escort them! Those were the days! 

Eventually my career took me to Dallas, Texas and then on to Southern California where I stayed for over 30 years. I was self-employed for a few of those years and then I had the opportunity to work for an amazing organization in the jewelry industry. How exciting is that! I worked closely with the marketing team, IT team, facilities team, security team and many more. We created and hosted several large symposiums and dozens of amazing events over the years, attended by celebrities and industry leaders from all over the world. I learned so many things working for a large organization that are still with me today. 

In 2019, I retired and relocated to Montana to be near my Montana family. Covid hit soon after my arrival, so it took a bit for me to get reestablished. To get back into the working world, this year I worked part time for a nursery. To my surprise…I LOVED IT!! I didn’t love the heat (those greenhouses are brutal) but I loved learning about the plants and working with customers to help them design their gardens. I can’t wait to go back next year!  

So, now it’s time for me to share the skills that I’ve learned over the years with others. I want to work with small businesses and entrepreneurs, to be the person that can save you time and supports you so you can focus on what you do best.
