Not so long ago, we all worked for corporations that provided offices, desks, etc. where we performed the daily duties of our positions. The companies provided a salary and all the required equipment needed as well as an assortment of benefits. They had departments dedicated to certain aspects of the organization…marketing, meeting/event planning, public relations, IT, research, finance, etc. There were coworkers with whom we collaborated.
That’s no longer the case. Much of today’s workforce works remotely. When you work on your own — as a solo or owner of a small business — it’s up to you to keep the business running smoothly, in addition to doing the work itself.
